We have made two lesson plans for schools to use during International Polar Week March 2022. To be used, also even after the Polar Week!
Lesson Plan 1 for Key Stage 2-3 (adaptable):
Through this simple poster-making activity on key characteristics of the Arctic or Antarctic, children will learn about the landscapes, ecology and people of the Polar regions. Key skills developed: research and organising information.
Check out the lesson plan here!
Lession Plan 2 for Pre-School Kids:
With this activity the kids will learn about the changes in the Arctic sea ice and the impact these have on the life of animals living there, specifically on the polar bears and seals. Children will develop their scientific skills of observation, prediction, and evaluation. They become polar bears and seals in the classroom and learn how to navigate melting sea ice floes.
