To promote rapid international collaboration and capacity building, AGATA is launching a new Fellowship Scheme focusing on AGATA science priorities (https://scar.org/science/research-programmes/agata).

Funding
• Up to USD $3,000 per award.
• Supports travel, accommodation, and subsistence for short research visits.


Scope and Eligibility
Proposals must clearly align with AGATA science themes, including Antarctic atmosphere, geospace processes, and their global interactions. Applications should demonstrate strong scientific value and international collaboration. Researchers from SCAR member countries are encouraged to apply. The applicant has to be an AGATA member or has to sign up prior to the submission (https://nettskjema.no/a/agata-registration).

Fellowship Duration
Visits must be completed within 6 months of award notification.


Timeline
• Launch at SCAR Open Science Conference (August 2026)
• Application deadline: 30 September 2026
• Review by AGATA sub-group: October 2026
• Decisions announced: Mid-October 2026


Selection Process
Applications will be reviewed and ranked by an AGATA-appointed panel based on scientific merit, alignment with AGATA priorities, feasibility, and potential impact on collaboration and capacity building.
