The inaugural QuIESCENT Arctic workshop (Quantifying the Indirect Effect: from Sources to Climate Effects of Natural and Transported aerosol in the Arctic) will bring together aerosol and cloud physicists and chemists to identify the key outstanding challenges in understanding and quantifying Arctic aerosol-cloud interactions, with a focus on how Arctic air pollution affects clouds in the region.
It takes place from 4th - 5th April 2019 in Cambridge, UK.
The British Antarctic Survey invites applications for the Quantifying the Indirect Effect: from Sources to Climate Effects of Natural and Transported aerosol in the Arctic (QuIESCENT) Arctic Workshop. Organizers welcome contributions from scientists using observational (remote sensing, in-situ, satellite) or modelling (from process to climate modelling) techniques to study Arctic aerosol-cloud interactions. Applicants are encouraged to present what they already know from their area of expertise, what they'd like to find out, and the problems they face in retrieving this information. Submissions from early career researchers and scientists with interdisciplinary interests are strongly encouraged. Members of recent Arctic measurement campaigns are also encouraged to attend.
All workshop participants will have the opportunity to present in poster or oral formats.
