Arctic PASSION Online Seminar & Dialogue “Wildfires and Air quality forecasting - Services Features & Users' Feedbacks”

Arctic PASSION develops Arctic services to meet the informational needs of the Arctic society. Two of our services target the distribution of information about wildfires (INFRA) and air quality (AURORAE). This online meeting is meant to initiate a dialogue with potential service users, especially non-scientific audiences, in order to improve public information delivery and adjust services towards the users’ needs.

- INFRA: A web mapping service for wildfires, providing easy access to relevant information and products for Northern Europe, Canada and Yakutia (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yNtPiVI75Xw)
- AURORAE: A web interface that monitors air quality and provides a two-day forecast of particulate matter concentrations for Northern Europe (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ova0pIVve4M)

- Understand user needs and challenges in accessing fire-related and air pollution information
- Clarify the types of information that are most critical and how it should be communicated
- Gather actionable feedback to refine INFRA and AURORAE's features and updates
- Explore the potential for in-person workshops to enhance community engagement and communication

- Ilaria Crotti, AURORAE developer, researcher at the European Commission Joint Research Center (JRC)
- Vito Vitale, INFRA developer, researcher at the Italian National Research Council (CNR)
- Curtis Rattray, member of the Tāłtān Nation (British Columbia, Canada), expert in capacity building and leadership development services, working with Tāłtān youth
