APECS is working with the journal PLOS Climate to create a bespoke collection produced by APECS. We are looking for authors who would like to publish opinions and reviews that address a variety of thematic topics within the polar and alpine sphere that are connected with climate and that discuss experiences and the role of early career researchers (ECRs) in polar science.
These can be:
1) agenda-setting pieces in the format of reviews or opinions, identifying priorities for future polar science research (4000 words max) or
2) reflective/opinion pieces discussing the experiences of early career researchers in polar science (max 1000 words, with a max of 15 references)
This would be a commissioned collection, which means that the pieces should fit under the ‘Commissioned Article Types’ for length and scope. There are no publication fees for commissioned articles.
