The XII Workshop APECS Portugal is finally here and will focus on how polar science and scientists adapted to the restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic: “An Unexpected Journey - Polar Science in a Pandemic crisis”. Through a hybrid format, the event will be completely free and our objective will be to discuss the negative and positive effects of the pandemic on polar science expeditions, data collection, science outputs, networking and education; as well as lessons learned.
Event date: 30th November, 9:00-17:00 GMT.
During the event, we will have national and international speakers with diverse backgrounds from different institutions sharing their experiences and points of view. The workshop will conclude with a debate under this topic to stimulate the active participation of early career researchers, the invited speakers, and educators, as well as the public. Additionally, this year we will organize a network activity for attendants to interact with the speakers, educators and APECS mentors in a more relaxed context.
