This month I had the amazing opportunity to give the Commencement Address at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point's Spring Graduation, where I received my undergraduate degree in 1998. This Graduation Ceremony was held for over 1200 students who completed their B.S., M.S, or Ph.D. degrees, and loads of their friends and family. It was a wonderful experience, and quite an honor for me. When trying to prepare my speech, I received some fun comments from various people. Curt Rice, the Pro-Rector of Research here at the University of Tromsø, told me that he would buy me a beer for every time I mentioned the University of Tromsø in my speech - so I made sure I mentioned it a few times :) Then it occurred to me that I have not told you all about this great University that has generously agreed to host our International Directorate Office.
The University of Tromsø is the Northernmost University in the world and has a number of great programs and degrees - many of which are taught in English. For those of you interested in a semester exchange, there are lots of scholarships available to help fund your stay here.
