Polar Outreach Catalogue

POLAR-PALOOZA was an innovative outreach model partnering some 40 polar scientists - glaciologists, oceanographers, biologists, engineers and others - with a team of professional science communicators to create a traveling 'research road-show' which visited 25 different communities during IPY. A diverse but complementary array of multi-day events included presentations in science centres and natural history museums for large public audiences using High Definition video clips taped in the Arctic and Antarctic. Special sessions for students and K-12 educators used edited versions of the videos and allowed ample time for face-to-face interaction.
