Polar Outreach Catalogue

The NSF provided funding for a teacher to participate in on-going studies of Erebus volcano. The primary goal of the teacher was to organize and relate not only the experiences, but also the basic nature of the science and its implications towards Antarctic systems and global environmental issues. While on Erebus, teacher directed lessons and projects were facilitated with the students utilizing on-line journals. Through collaboration with team members and others an on-going series of classroom lessons and activities, professional development, and public presentations has been made in other schools as well.
