Extreme Ice Survey
  • General public
The Extreme Ice Survey (EIS) connects art and science, giving innovative visual expression to the planet's changing ecosystems. In partnership with leading scientists and educators, EIS documents and communicates how climate change and other human activity impact the environment.

Since 2007, EIS has told the story of a planet in flux. With innovative methodology that combines time-lapse imagery with cutting-edge science, EIS is conducting the world's most extensive ground-based photographic glacier study, revealing the extraordinary ongoing retreat of glaciers and ice sheets. EIS fieldwork is performed in Greenland, Iceland, Bolivia, the Alps, Alaska, Canada and the Rocky Mountains.
