Polar and Alpine Events Calendar
To Thursday 30 April 2020
The MSP Forum will be postponed, please visit the event website for additional information.
The MSPforum’s overarching objective is to empower a new generation of planners, sectors, businesses and civil society to identify solutions and commit to cross-sectoral actions to conserve our ocean and use its resources in a sustainable way.
One of the actions of the joint MSP Roadmap adopted by UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission and the Directorate-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of the European Commission (DG MARE) is to establish an international forum for discussion and exchange, offering concrete examples and guidelines on how to apply Maritime/Marine Spatial Planning: the MSPforum.
This edition will provide a space to discuss and exchange experiences, analyses and best practices on the management of marine space through a sectoral approach focused on energy, aquaculture, transportation and tourism.
In addition to thematic plenaries and technical workshops, a full day will be dedicated to visiting local stakeholders from the four sectors mentioned above, empowering participants to identify solutions and actions to conserve our ocean and use its resources in a sustainable way.
It is jointly organised by UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission and European Commission’s Directorate-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries.
