The X Workshop APECS Portugal will focus on the value of early career scientists for science, in a research team and within scientific networks and vice-versa - a Scientist is Born. We aim to understand how early career scientists can progress within research teams from the perspective of experienced researchers; what is the role of early career in the development of international networks such as APECS, as well as the advantages of integrating these networks; and how can involvement in educational activities and outreach can be beneficial both for the scientist developing a career and for education. The experience and knowledge of senior researchers along with these kinds of collaborations are of utmost importance as feedback for young researchers and students that may follow a research career path.
