The Norwegian Polar Institute and the Research Council of Norway invite you to the second Seminar on Research in and about the Antarctic, a follow-up of the seminar held in 2016.

The seminar is primarily targeted towards researchers in Norway and Norwegian agencies, authorities and decision-makers with interests or responsibilities relating to Antarctica.

The seminar is intended to provide:

• a meeting place for new and established Antarctic researchers in Norway across all scientific fields (nature, history, political science, etc.);
• an arena for disseminating information about ongoing and recently concluded research projects related to the Antarctic;
• an arena for providing information about the framework for Norwegian Antarctic research;
• a think-tank to develop new ideas and strategies in connection with interdisciplinary Antarctic research.

The focus of the seminar will be on disseminating recent findings from ongoing research projects, presentations of new projects and targeted discussions on selected strategic research topics in addition to providing information about available research tools.
