WORKSHOP

The new IASSA Working Group “Gender in the Arctic” got some funding from IASC for doing a workshop this year.

This will take place as a side event of the UArctic Congress in September 2018 in Oulu/Finland. (The conference from 3-7th of September will be held in Oulu and in Helsinki (Helsinki is on the last day).

The theme and call for papers for this GiA side event will be out early 2018 and will focus around eg. women, masculinity and queer studies/cases in the Arctic etc. GiA understands gender as a intersectional category in particular including the indigenous dimensions.

Funding will be allocated to people who have no institutional back up such as gender activists and early career scholars.

We would also like to invite you to contribute to the IASSA GiA WG website https://gender-arctic.jimdo.com.

We have there space for making your initiatives, networks, institutions, research, yourself as an activist or researcher etc visible.
In the ideal world our website should be a one-stop-shop for all who are interested in Gender in the Arcitc in order to easily look up relevant info and to get in touch with each other.
