The Climate and Cryosphere (CliC) project of the World Climate Research Program (WCRP) has initiated a Targeted Activity named the Marine Ice Sheet - Ocean Modeling Intercomparison Project (MISOMIP) to advance coupled glacier-ocean modeling for West Antarctica. The MISOMIP effort is also an activity of the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR). To date, first and second workshops were held in 2014 and 2016.

During May 7-9, 2018, a third workshop is being organized, hosted by the NYU Abu Dhabi Research Institute (RI) and the Center for global Sea-Level Change (CSLC). The workshop will be held at the campus of NYUAD on Saadiyat Island, UAE.

Limited support is available for several graduate students involved in MISOMIP/MISMIP/ISOMIP related research as part of their thesis work.
