To Sunday 26 March 2017
Attention Polar Marine Science graduate students and postdocs,We are pleased to announce the 2017 Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) on Polar Marine Science, which will be held in conjunction with the Gordon Research Conference (GRC) on Polar Marine Science, in March 2017 at the Ventura Beach Marriott in Ventura, CA:
March 25-26, 2017: Gordon Research Seminar, Polar Marine Science
March 26-31, 2017: Gordon Research Conference, Polar Marine Science. The GRS is organized, led and attended by graduate students and postdoctoral scholars, and is an excellent opportunity for early career scientists to present and discuss their work with their peers. This year’s theme is “Advancing the Physical-Biological Understanding of Polar Marine Ecosystems Through Innovative Technology”
The week-long GRC is open to scientists at all career levels and will include sessions on ecosystem status in the Arctic and Antarctic, biogeochemical interactions, paleoceanographic records, technological advances in observing systems, biophysical coupled models, and more.
Following the usual Gordon Research Conference schedule, there will be morning and evening lectures, poster sessions in the late afternoon and evening, and afternoons reserved for informal interactions and activities, and time to explore the beautiful California coast.
Applications for both the GRC and the GRS are now being accepted at www.grc.org. A limited number of travel and registration fellowships for students will be announced in early 2017.
We hope to see you in March!
