Selling your best assets: Conducting a successful interview.
Interviewing for a faculty position is is like an academic marathon-- from the first round of interviews to the on-site interviews which usually includes a public lecture, a teaching lecture, and face to face time with an array of people. This webinar by Ben Crosby, Assistant Professor in the Department of Geosciences at the Idaho State University, gives tips to highlight the strengths of your candidacy during the interview process.

Recorded on 15 February 2011.

This video is part of an online lecture series coordinated by APECS, US NSF ARCSS Thermokarst Project, and the University of Canterbury to help early career polar researchers navigate their careers. For more information on the full series, visit apecs.is/webinars.

Presenter: Benjamin Crosby, Assistant Professor, Department of Geosciences, Idaho State University

Ben Crosby has been an assistant professor in the Department of Geosciences at Idaho State University since 2006. Dr. Crosby earned his Ph.D. in geology/geomorphology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2006. He studies the physical and biological processes by which the Earth’s surface responds to climatic, tectonic, and anthropogenic disturbance. As part of the current EPSCoR grant, he and his graduate students are examining how the range of elevations within the Salmon River watershed influence the timing and magnitude of the water that flows downstream; this will help them better understand the ecological impact of shifting snowlines, which are predicted with climate change.
