This project is funded within the Collaborative Research Centre TR172 Arctic Amplification (AC)3 (www.ac3-tr.de), whose 3rd phase started in January 2024. The position will play a central role in the development and coordination of novel hectometre (cloud-resolving) simulations with the German climate and weather model ICON to better under- stand the Arctic Amplification.

YOUR TASKS

• »  Development and coordination of novel simulations from hectometre to the kilometre scale (cloud resolution) for various case studies in the Arctic system

• »  Extension and professionalization of unique ICON-LEM testbed setup for an Arctic location

• »  Development of new metrics/diagnostics to evaluate simulations (e.g. of clouds) with observations

• »  Processing and management of data from existing and future simulations

• »  Support for the community in creating and analysing simulations and existing results as well as conducting training sessions
