- Postdoctoral Researcher
We have an open Postdoctoral Research Fellow position focusing on numerical modelling of Antarctic ice-ocean interactions. The position is funded by CRiceS (EU) and CLIM2Ant (RCN) and aims to reduce uncertainties in projections of Antarctica's contributions to future sea level rise.
You will be employed in the Section for Oceanography in our Research Department. The section works with a broad spectrum of tasks within ocean physics and marine biogeochemistry under the institute's program areas in the Arctic Ocean, Svalbard, and Antarctica.
This is a fixed-term position for a period of 3 years and 4 months that will be organized in close cooperation with the ocean modelling group at the research institute Akvaplan-niva AS (located in the same building as the Norwegian Polar Institute), and provide the opportunity for collaboration with experts in Southern Ocean oceanography and modelling, ice modelling and atmospheric dynamics through partners at NORCE, UiT The Arctic University of Norway (UiT), University of Bergen and Lapland University in Rovaniemi, and University of Tasmania, Hobart, Australia (UTAS).
Your workplace will be Tromsø, including some travel in connection with project meetings and presenting results at conferences and other relevant professional forums.
