Graduate Programmes
The University of Alaska Anchorage Master of Public Health (MPH) prepares public health leaders to improve health across Alaska, the Arctic, and the Circumpolar North. As the northernmost CEPH-accredited MPH program in the United States, students engage in applied research and community partnerships focused on Indigenous health, rural and Arctic health, climate change, epidemiology, One Health, environmental health, and health equity. Graduates are prepared to address the unique public health challenges facing northern communities while contributing to public health practice around the world.
Students may be eligible for graduate assistantships, scholarships, employer tuition assistance, military education benefits, and federal financial aid. Additional funding opportunities may be available through faculty research projects, community partnerships, and University of Alaska graduate funding programs.
The Graduate Public Health Programs maintain strong partnerships with Tribal health organizations, Alaska public health agencies, municipalities, and community organizations throughout Alaska. Students have opportunities to engage in applied research and practice addressing issues unique to Arctic and Circumpolar populations, including climate change, Indigenous health, environmental health, food security, infectious diseases, disaster preparedness, and healthy community development. Research thesis opportunities are available for students interested in pursuing doctoral study or research careers.
