Polar Outreach Catalogue

The composer-in-residence with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra travelled with the Schools on Board program aboard the CCGS Amundsen to take in first hand polar science in the Arctic. As a result of his experiences he composed an orchestral work, Arctic Postcards, that was premiered at the WSO's New Music Festival that highlighted polar science. In addition to this festival a high school event was also held where students, teachers, musician and scientists could meet and discuss polar issues. This collaboration also lead to the Schools on Board programms to the themes of music and science in their 2010 youth fourm.
