35 min documentary on the ESASSI-08 oceanographic cruise carried out on January 2008 in the South Scotia Ridge region onboard R/V Hesperides. The film covers from the scientific motivation of the cruise (the study of shelf-slope interactions) and the preliminary work at IMEDEA to the cruise itself. The main aim is to explain the background of oceanographic research in the Southern Ocean, but also to show the daily life onboard a research vessel.
