Polar Outreach Catalogue

Eight museum exhibits will be produced to feature the flora and fauna of the subarctic and Beaufort Delta regions. Each display will include an introduction, a glass case for cultural artifacts, a diorama with taxidermy or model animals, and an audio-visual resource unit. The project will highlight IPY research and the impacts of climate change on the Northwest Territories. Combined, these dioramas will represent the seasons, key animal species and other important elements of Northern biological and cultural diversity in an exciting, meaningful and educational way. Although the project is located in Yellowknife, virtual dioramas can be viewed through the PWNHC's website extending the projects reach beyond the Northwest Territories.
