Pan-Arctic Interactive Communications Health Project
- General public
In May 2009, a series of three live TV call-in shows on Inuit wellness were broadcasted. These programs focused on current health issues of importance to Inuit, including: (1) Inuit men?s health and wellness, (2) Inuit maternal care, and (3) Inuit youth and coping. Each show was moderated and featured panel discussions about programs and research with community representatives and physicians, video vignettes and interactions with the studio audience, and Skype, phone and e-mail participants. The IPY QIHS research project headed by Dr. Grace Egeland of McGill University was highlighted as part of these programs. The television broadcasts reached a wide audience by airing both on the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network - North (APTN) and 360 North, Alaska?s Public Broadcast Network. Anyone who missed the live broadcasts can watch the webcast online.
