In search of ice
- General public
'In Search of Ice' is a body of work inspired by travels in Alaska, on Svalbard and in Greenland. Among the images is a 22 foot long folding screen of the Icefiord in Ilulissat, Greenland which was exhibited at the Polar Weekend at the American Museum of Natural History, February 2009. What began as a fascination with a moving changing landscape became concern about the vanishing ice and its consequences. It became important to put before the eyes of a lay public the harsh beauty of glacial environments, to remind, not only of a threatened landscape, but the bigger issue, the fragility of our planet.
