Lectures and outdoor activities for school children
Tatiana Matveeva's project includes lectures at school where she presents the MOSAiC expedition and scientific background on the Arctic climate system, and explains why it is important, to learn more about it.

Tatiana teaches a special course called "Young meteorologist" at a school for talented children, the "Intellectual" in Moscow. Here, student at the age of 11-13 years learn intensively in small groups of 11-12 students. Tatiana uses Russian for her lectures, however, for advanced school children she is presenting in English.
As her MOSAiC Ambassador activity Tatiana is designing MOSAiC-themed lectures on the concept and importance of the MOSAiC expedition. Besides describing the current state of work on the MOSAiC floe and the distributed network, she explains the coupled system science connecting atmosphere, ocean, sea-ice and ecosystem topics and also provides her personal expressions and experience from the cruise aboard research vessel Akademik Fedorov. Special classroom and outdoor activities for school children aim to show the complexity of Arctic climate system and to draw attention to climate change. Tatiana gave her lectures and "fresh" exepriece on 12 November and 24 December 2019. Unfortunatley, the global pandemic in 2020/21 had a big influence on her teaching activities.
In May 2020, Tatiana gave an online interview for the Russian television 5-TV together with hin MOSAiC Ambassador colleagues Igor and Natalia for a special issue on the International Day of Polar Scientists. Tatiana also helped with Russian translations for a fellow Ambassador's photobook project of Thea.
