Association of Polar Early Career Scientists

We are pleased to inform you about an ice core session at the next EGU meeting: "Past climate reconstructions from ice core records: limits and gaps in the interpretation of proxies embedded in the ice". We are very excited for this EGU session that highlights the work being performed to overcome current challenges in the interpretation of ice core paleoclimate records.

Special focus is placed on the analyses of ice cores either recently drilled or being drilled (for example, Beyond Epica- Oldest Ice). This interdisciplinary session will engage with newly available techniques that help interpret ice core records, such as new proxies from the ice or new analytical methodologies, as well as relevant results obtained by remote sensing, ice-penetrating radar, and modelling.

We would like to think of this session as an opportunity to bring together researchers engaged in this field ahead of the next IPICS conference in October.

Please consider submitting an abstract to our session: https://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU2020/session/37352

And we hope to see you in Vienna in May!
