289 Expedition Glacialis CrowdfundingWe would like to tell you about our Arctic expedition project ‘Glacialis’ and our crowdfunding campaign: https://wemakeit.com/projects/expedition-glacialis

Next summer, the Glacialis expedition will sail to the Arctic to survey marine fauna, in particular marine mammals, visually, acoustically, and with a thermal camera. Furthermore, we will monitor macro and micro plastics, collect environmental DNA and plankton in the Arctic waters. The data will be shared on our website www.glacialis.ch, on flukebook.org, and happywhale.com among others.

We are a multidisciplinary team of biologists (MMO/PAM), photographers and artists, and we look forward to sharing this expedition with you! We plan to leave the Azores for Greenland in June 2021 (Covid permitting) aboard the sailing ship Atlas (https://www.atlasexpeditions.org/).
At the moment 65% of our expedition is financed but we still need help to fit out the ship in an ecological way (watermaker, batteries, wind turbine) and to complete our scientific equipment with e.g. cables, hydrophones and to install a thermal camera.

That's why we call upon you, scientific friends!

We are running a crowdfunding campaign until the 12th of April: https://wemakeit.com/projects/expedition-glacialis with raffle tickets starting at 10 CHF (9Euros; 14CAD) with the chance to win fantastic prizes such as staying 3 days on board our expedition ship Atlas in the Azores or very nice price from our sponsors, like Peli case or ethical Polaar cosmetics.

Subscribe to our newsletter or follow us on Linkedin, Facebook, or instagram at expeditionsglacialis to receive updates from us. Finally, if you are interested in collaborating with us and would like to join the circle of our more than 50 partners, get in touch! We could e.g. collect data for you, or if you are happy to lend us equipment or maybe join us for future expeditions don't hesitate to contact us!

"Small streams, makes big rivers", thanks a million for your help!

Best regards,
