NSF is looking for proposals to initiate industry-university cooperative research centers to address issues in the Arctic that have interest from potential industry and other governmental partners.
For more details, see NSF Dear Colleague Letter and solicitation NSF-20-570.
Industry-University Cooperative Research Centers Program (IUCRCs) are focused on performing fundamental use-inspired research, publishable in the peer-reviewed literature, that is of mutual interest to companies and other members of the Center’s Advisory Board to overcome hurdles a sector of the economy is facing. Research projects are proposed by faculty and funded by membership fees contributed by the Center Industrial Advisory Board, with most money going
to support students and postdocs involved in the projects. These are a great way to gain experience working with industry and get them interested in working with you and your university. It is also a great way to find students jobs as up to 30% of those involved in Center projects, on average, are hired by member companies.
The deadline for preliminary proposals is rapidly approaching (March 10) and are required for submission of a full proposal in June.
