The 27th International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG) General Assembly will be held in early July 2019 in Montréal, Québec, Canada. 2019 marks the 100th anniversary of IUGG.
The International Association of Cryospheric Sciences (IACS) will host or co-host more than 30 symposia between the 9thand 13thof July, with topics ranging from the most pressing global issues (e.g. projecting 21stcentury sea level) to a wide range of more focussed and cutting-edge snow and ice topics. Waleed Abdalati, Director of the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES), at the University of Colorado, Boulder will give the prestigious Union Lecture in Cryospheric Sciences. Dr. Marie Dumont and Dr Emilie Capron, winners of IUGG Early Career Prizes, will also be honoured and will give plenary lectures.
IACS and IUGG will together support a large number of travel grants to enable students, other early career scientists, and attendees from less-affluent countries to come to Montreal. More information is available here http://iugg2019montreal.com/travel-grant.html
