On 26 September 2019, APECS hosted the first online conference in Spanish, the APECS Iberoamericana. This event was a joint effort from the National Committees from Spanish-speaking countries: Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Spain and Uruguay. The aim for this event was to offer a space for Hispanic polar early career researchers and educators to share their work in their native language, and create resources for education of the Polar Regions in Spanish.
The APECS Iberoamericana was a success! The online conference extended for over 8 hours, with 30 speakers from 9 different countries sharing excellent presentations on their polar research.
We are pleased to announce the APECS Iberoamericana online conference winners for best presentations:
1st prize to Natalia Doloisio, from UVSQ/CEARC (France): ‘Derretimiento del permafrost en la costa del Ártico Ruso: dimensiones materiales y culturales’.
