Summary
In his PhD, Michael Zemp investigated glacier change in the European Alps after 1850. Today, he is the Director of the World Glacier Monitoring Service at the Department of Geography, University of Zurich. In his talk, he will introduce glacier monitoring-methods and provide an overview on the fluctuations of Alpine glaciers from the “Little Ice Age” to the end of the 21st century. Michael will also put the Alpine glacier changes into the context of global glacier changes and related sea-level rise contributions.
