APECS' new term began on 1 October. We are now inviting all APECS members to join our activities as members of our Project Groups! This is one of the easiest ways to get more involved in APECS and to contribute in a way that is best suited to your interests and skills. Hosting meetings, taking notes, research, writing, graphic design, social media posting, sending emails - these are just a few examples of the ways you can contribute to APECS project groups.

It's APECS International Polar Week September 2022
Join us in celebrating International Polar Week from 26 to 30 September! Click here for more info, the programme and further activities organised by APECS National Committees.
APECS International Polar Week is a traditional APECS event held twice a year during the equinoxes (March and September), that is, the dates when the Sun is exactly above the Equator, making day and night of approximately equal length in the northern and southern hemispheres.

On the 12th of September (National Video Game Day in the US) at 5PM (GMT), APECS organizes a webinar in collaboration with Alterna (see below) on the use of cartography, mapping, and scientific data in creating a video game as an alternative way to visualize climate-driven changes in the Arctic to the wider public. The project is called Monsters and Ghosts of the Far North: Collective cartographies.

APECS members — here is your chance to get a temporary position on the APECS Council Leadership before the opening of next term's election!
We are looking for two people to replace two National Committee Coordinators (NCCs) until the end of the term (30 September 2022). Note that this position requires a high degree of commitment (around 1 hour/week), so before applying you should ensure that you will have the time to fulfill the responsibilities of this role.
