In 1996, I defended my PhD in biological oceanography, at the University 'Pierre et Marie Curie' (Paris, France) on 'Spatial and temporal fluctuations in Calanus populations sampled by the Continuous Plankton Recorder'. During 1997-2000 I worked at CEFAS (Center for Environment Fisheries and Aquaculture Sciences, Lowestoft, UK) on the effects of climate variations on demersal and bottom fish populations. From 2000 to 2007 I worked at Ifremer (Institut Français de Recherche pour l'Exploitation de la mer, Nantes, France) on the effects of large- and meso-scale environmental fluctuations on small pelagic fish populations. In 2008, I joined the deep sea species group at IMR (Institute of Marine Research, Tromsø, Norway). My current research focuses on the ecology and assessment of deepwater fish. I am leading the national project BarEcoRe (Barents sea Ecosystem Resilience under global environmental change, 2010-2013).
