I was drawn to th is topic 20 years ago because of some elegant equations that predicted hill top convexity. It made me feel like an intellectual to say “did you know hi llslopes can be described by the same equations that describe chemical and thermal diffusion?” Except they can’t. I will show lots of pretty hillshade images of hillslopes that are not behaving. I will also talk about other p eople’s studies that have tried to quantify just how wrong the diffusion mo del of hillslopes is. You should tune in to the talk because I might say ho w great your paper is.
