DESCRIPTION:<div dir="auto">We are please to announce that registration and abstract su
 bmission for our WAIS Workshop 2020 Virtual Science Sessions is now open. S
 essions will take place during the weeks of September 21 and September 28. 
 Multiple distributed, virtual science sessions will take place via Zoom dur
 ing the weeks of September 21 and September 28. Each week, participants wil
 l be organized into groups of &lt;15 participants, with up to 10 speakers w
 ho each give an 8 minute talk. Talks will be followed by a WAIS-style 20 mi
 nute discussion moderated by a session convener. The goal is that most part
 icipants will attend and present in two ~100-minute sessions scheduled at t
 he convenience of the session participants during the designated week. All 
 sessions will be recorded and posted on YouTube for future community consum
 ption.<br /> <br /> Please register and submit your abstract by August 28 v
 ia our <a href="https://forms.gle/gbzku22mNaUybuSQ6">Google Form</a>. Topic
 s for virtual session include,</div><ul><li>Snow/firn/surface-mass balance<
 /li><li>Grounding zones and ice shelves</li><li>Past records of changes and
  processes</li><li>Oceanography and marine biology</li><li>Science communic
 ation and outreach</li><li>Subglacial environments, processes, and lifeform
 s</li><li>Leading edge (new technology, modern methods, and data science)</
 li></ul><div dir="auto">Abstracts will be reviewed by WAIS Workshop organiz
 ers and session conveners. Decisions and session placement will be announce
 d by September 7 and session scheduled finalized by September 14. Diversity
