 on’s environmental, economic, and political landscapes and these changes ha
 ve also affected other parts of the globe, leaving the world with a range o
 f issues and challenges.</p><p>The 2016 International Symposium on Polar Sc
 iences is organized in an effort to is organized in an effort to understand
  the accelerating changes in Arctic and to reflect on how to prepare for th
 eir anticipated impacts, and thus is entitled “The Future of the Arctic: Sc
 ience and Governance”.</p><p>The symposium is organized into six sessions t
 o share and discuss current scientific achievements and law and policy base
 d efforts, which will help guide future research and observations of the ra
 pidly changing Arctic:</p><p>Observations of the changing Arctic atmosphere
 <br />Modelling the physical processes of Arctic climate system<br />Climat
 e change and Arctic terrestrial ecosystems<br />Sea ice networks for observ
 ation and prediction<br />Science, law and Arctic future<br />Social and hu
