 r 2019, the German icebreaker Polarstern and the Russian research vessel Ak
 ademik Fedorov set sail into the Central Arctic sea ice. With the aim to co
 llect data around the coupled Arctic climate system Polarstern will drift t
 hrough the Arctic for an entire year as part of the MOSAiC project (https:/
 /mosaic-expedition.org/). MOSAiC education and outreach activities aim to c
 reate visibility of field research and awareness for globally important top
 ics of Arctic change. Training of early career researchers was facilitated
