SUMMARY:Potsdam Summer School - postponed
LOCATION:Potsdam\, Germany
DESCRIPTION:We are very sad to inform you that due to the COVID-19 outbreak the decisio
n was made to postpone this year´s Potsdam Summer School to be held in 2021
.\nWith its overarching theme – “Water: Our Global Common Good – The Hydros
phere across Land and Sea” – this year’s Potsdam Summer School will continu
e the transdisciplinary and interactive event series that has been held ann
ually in Potsdam, Germany since 2014.\nThe summer school will provide its p
articipants with a comprehensive perspective and overview of the relevant a
spects when dealing with the hydrosphere. They will be engaged in discussio
ns and group works and will be provided with tools to develop effective str
ategies in order to deal with the challenges they face in their daily work.
The aim of the Potsdam Summer School is to bring together talented early-c
areer scientists and young professionals operating in the private sector, g
overnmental agencies and non-governmental organisations from many different
parts of the world to discuss frontier (research) questions on future sust
ainable development.\nWe also aim to enable participants to engage with var
ious sectors of the public in their home countries. Our goal is to improve
science awareness and help to develop informed opinions and enhance the tra
nsferable skills of current researchers and practitioners. In this context,
the Potsdam Summer School provides a unique opportunity for all participan
ts to foster international cooperation and an interdisciplinary exchange of
ideas. These issues span a multitude of natural and social science discipl
ines and invite stakeholders from the public and private sector to get invo
lved. Experts, stakeholders, and guest lecturers from high level national a
nd international institutes and organisations will contribute knowledge and
insights to the Summer School programme. The programme will comprise lectu
res, various discussion formats, and interactive group work activities. \nT
he deadline for submitting applications will be on April 17 (23:59 UTC).\nF
