DESCRIPTION:Unfortunately the Polar Microbes Symposium has been cancelled for 2020 due 
 to the COVID-19 outbreak, and rescheduled for May 3-6, 2021. We hope that y
 ou and your families stay safe during this uncertain time and we look forwa
 rd seeing you next year. Please visit the event website for additional info
 rmation.\n \nThis symposium will bring together molecular microbial ecologi
 sts specializing in different organism groups to share our latest results a
 nd discuss methodological problems, as well as future prospects in the fiel
 d, including practical international collaborations. The environmental focu
 s will be on cryospheric environments including sea ice, glaciers, ice shee
 ts, and permafrost, but excellent research in other polar environments is a
 lso invited. The methods to be discussed will focus on ‘omics’ techniques, 
 ranging from single cells to metagenomes, but exciting research using addit
