DESCRIPTION:<p><strong>Unfortunately the Polar Microbes Symposium has been cancelled fo
 r 2020 due to the COVID-19 outbreak, and rescheduled for May 3-6, 2021. We 
 hope that you and your families stay safe during this uncertain time and we
  look forward seeing you next year. Please visit the event website for addi
 tional information.</strong></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>This symposium will bring t
 ogether molecular microbial ecologists specializing in different organism g
 roups to share our latest results and discuss methodological problems, as w
 ell as future prospects in the field, including practical international col
 laborations. The environmental focus will be on cryospheric environments in
 cluding sea ice, glaciers, ice sheets, and permafrost, but excellent resear
 ch in other polar environments is also invited. The methods to be discussed
  will focus on ‘omics’ techniques, ranging from single cells to metagenomes
 , but exciting research using additional methods is encouraged as well.</p>
