In connection with the epidemiological situation , the organizers of the conference “Polar Readings – 2020” decided to condu ct it online. The conference will be held on official days – May 18–20, 202 0 (from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.).
The Internat ional Scientific and Practical Conference “Polar Readings” is held every ye ar at the end of April, on the eve of the Icebreaker festival on the Neva R iver. The world’s first Icebreaker festival took place in 2014 under the le adership of the working group responsible for organising the “Polar Reading s” conference.
The theme of the Polar Readings conference changes eve ry year. Each year’s theme is carefully chosen as to reflect the most press ing issues in the world of polar studies.
The conference’s main focus is on historical and cultural research, nevertheless, the chosen topics ar e not limited to these two subjects. This two-day conference brings togethe r researchers, various specialists, and many interested listeners. All the research and presentations are published in the conference proceedings afte r the conference.
Several thematic exhibitions are also held during t he conference.
