DESCRIPTION:<p>The major goal of the workshop is to identify key scientific research to
 pics that will help determine the highest priority sites for the next poten
 tial multidisciplinary U.S. Antarctic deep field camp and to facilitate com
 munication between new and veteran scientists. Such a camp is not guarantee
 d, but depends on interest and proposal pressure from our research communit
 y in the context of NSF priorities and Antarctic logistical constraints. Th
 e ultimate goal is not to choose a single site, but provide NSF a portfolio
  of the highest priority sites, along with justification for each (see belo
