SUMMARY:4th Interdisciplinary Antarctic Earth Sciences conference
LOCATION:Julian\, CA\, USA
DESCRIPTION:The meeting is intended to provide a forum to present and discuss results o
f exciting new Antarctic research across the spectrum of the Earth Sciences
and to encourage conversations about future interdisciplinary collaboratio
ns. As with the previous meetings, we will follow a single session format t
hat will include invited and contributed presentations, poster sessions, an
d informal discussion time to explore new collaborative research opportunit
ies. The program will be guided by an interdisciplinary organizing committe
e that will identify unifying session themes based on community interest al
ong with the critical questions identified by the U.S. Polar Research Board
and the International Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research. More det
ails about session themes, registration cost, travel support, etc., will fo
llow in the coming weeks. Both food and lodging will be available for all a
s part of the registration cost at Camp Cedar Glen. We anticipate the abst

the West Antarctic ice sheet (WAIS) meeting, which will be held Oct. 16-18
.\nThis biennial conference is intended to provide a forum to present and d
iscuss the results of your exciting new Antarctic research across the spect
rum of the Earth Sciences from deep time and deep earth to modern biologica
l interaction with surficial processes. We will have multidisciplinary ses
sions for talks and posters (see below for meeting details and logistics).\
nOverarching Theme: Intersecting Spheres \n\n - Cause and Effect: Inferrin
g Process from Pattern in Antarctic Earth History\n\n - Intentional & U
nintentional Collisions: Outcomes of Targeted and Serendipitous Collaborati
on\n\n - Sticky Edges: Transformative Science at the Margins of Emerging or
Existing Disciplines\nAbstract deadline: Aug. 16\nRegistration deadline:
