DESCRIPTION:Canada’s North is experiencing unprecedented change in its sea and terrestr
 ial ice, permafrost and ecosystems under the triple pressures of climate ch
 ange, industrialization and modernization. The impacts of these pressures c
 an be seen on food and energy security, shipping, sovereignty, northern com
 munity health and well-being, and sustainable development and resource expl
 oitation. All these issues have brought the North to the forefront of natio
 nal and international agendas.\nArctic researchers, Inuit/First Nations/Mét
 is and Northern Community representatives, government and non-government or
 ganizations, students, and industry stakeholders are encouraged to attend.\
 nAs the largest Arctic &amp; Northern research gathering held in Canada, th
 e ArcticNet ASM is the ideal venue for:\n\n - access to the best possible r
 esearch from all fields of Arctic and Northern science,\n - participation i
 n discussions around the challenges and opportunities arising from climate 
 change and modernization in the North, and,\n - maintaining and developing 
 collaborations among all those with interest in the Arctic and its peoples.

  will be an outstanding opportunity to present your Arctic research, and ne
 twork with a broad range of colleagues, collaborators and policy and decisi
