DESCRIPTION:The Anchorage Arctic Research Summit (ANCARS) aims to spur innovation in ho
 w we study and understand the North. The event will provide an opportunity 
 for Anchorage researchers to share their knowledge of the Arctic and to net
 work with others in the community.\nThis year’s conference theme, “Transfor
 ming Research and Scholarship in the North" will be addressed in two mornin
 g sessions: "Transforming Research &amp; Scholarship on Arctic Economic Sec
 urity" and "Transforming Research &amp; Scholarship on Arctic Environmental
  Security." Each session will feature a keynote speaker followed by a panel
  presentation.\nOrganizers invite abstract submissions for keynote and pane
 l presentations on the focus of the two session topics: Arctic Economic Sec
 urity and Arctic Environmental Security. Both topics are broadly defined to
  ensure a diversity and balance of perspectives, including perspectives roo
 ted in Indigenous world views, non-traditional research methods, and/or fra
 med in terms of gender.\nFurther information, including participant registr
 ation and the event agenda, will be available soon through the Anchorage Mu
