 ssessments: Process, Dissemination and Impact” at the upcoming Internationa
 l Conference on Arctic Science: <a href="http://apecs.us4.list-manage.com/t
 rack/click?u=a03dfaf87d90eac4c7d5c5b95&id=232cf85a28&e=36ced58c74" target="
 _blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Bringing Knowledge to Action </a>in Resto
 n, Virginia, United States on 24 April 2017.</strong></p><div> </div><p>The
 re is an urgent, recognized need to bridge the gap between science and poli
 cy to enhance the use of scientific knowledge as a basis for decision-makin
 g. Scientific assessments are principal mechanisms for harnessing scientifi
 c information to inform policy- and decision-making. A scientific assessmen
 t is, however, far more than just a final report or deliverable, it is the 
 entire multi-year process, within which expert knowledge is gathered, evalu
 ated, interpreted - before it is communicated to decision-makers and other 
 audiences.</p><p>Participants will have a chance to learn more about scient
 ific assessments, their do’s and don’ts, best practices in translating and 
 communicating science and knowledge into action, and how individual scienti
 sts can make their voice heard. Workshop outcomes will contribute with thei
 r views to the discussions on the last day of the conference.</p><p>The wor
 kshop is <strong>open to all participants</strong> of the <a href="http://a
 pecs.us4.list-manage.com/track/click?u=a03dfaf87d90eac4c7d5c5b95&id=11fe284
 45f&e=36ced58c74" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">International C
