The Universit y of Oklahoma School of Meteorology and the Cooperative Institute for Mesoscale Meteorological Studies (CIMMS) organize the ;6th Polar Prediction Workshop. The workshop will bring together diver se communities working on sea ice prediction, cold air outbreaks, models wi th varying temporal and spatial resolutions and various observing systems ( radar, in-situ measurements, satellites) and those who use these products t o produce weather, seasonal to subseasonal and weather forecasts. The socia l and socioeconomic impacts of Arctic weather and climate will also be disc ussed. The workshop will also focus on the current state of knowledge of pr ocesses in the Arctic, and impacts of both processes and forecasts. The wor kshop will also include a keynote address.

The workshop will begin on Wednesday morning and end Frid ay at noon. The keynote speaker will be Dr. John Walsh of the International Arctic Research Center at the Universit y of Alaska.
