DESCRIPTION:The Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS) and the University
  of the Arctic are jointly organising a science communication workshop in c
 onnection with the UArctic Congress 2018 in Oulu, Finland. The main worksho
 p day will be on 3 September 2018 but participants will be expected to work
  on tasks throughout the duration of the congress.\nThe workshop will focus
  on three topics:\n\n - Storytelling as a tool for science communication\n 
 - Using social media for science communication\n - Communicating science to
  policy makers and the public\n - Communicating with the MediaThe workshop 
 will include both introductory lectures and also hands-on practical parts. 
 In addition to the workshop day, the participants will receive a task to us
 e the skills gained during the workshop during the UArctic Congress (incl. 
 conducting interviews). More information will be communicated to successful
  applicants before the workshop. The results of the workshop and message fr
 om Oulu will be communicated at the Helsinki welcoming reception on Thursda
 y evening (Sep 6th).\n
