 ong>Target:</strong> Advanced PhD candidates and early career scientists.</
 p><p><strong>Goal:</strong> To mix students and lecturers with empirical an
 d dynamical training within climate science and focus on understanding the 
 basic principles and dynamics relating to asymmetries in climate.</p><p><st
 rong>Price:</strong> All local expenses (such as accommodation, food and fi
 eld work) on site are covered by the summer school, but participants have t
 o cover their travel to Norway themselves.</p><p><strong>Key topics to be i
 ncluded:</strong> <br />- hemispheric asymmetry in the mean climate<br />- 
 asymmetry in deep water formation<br />- hemispheric phasing of Quaternary 
 climate changes<br />- bipolar seesaw (leads and lags)<br />- spatial and t

 amics Courses (ACDC) are yearly summer schools organized by the Bjerknes Ce
 ntre for Climate Research (University of Bergen) in collaboration with the 
 University of Washington, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, and the Uni
 versity of Texas at Austin with support from the Centre for Internationaliz
 ation of Higher Education (SiU) and the Research Council of Norway. Partner
 s for this year’s summer school include Harvard University, McGill Universi
 ty, Scripps Institution of Oceanography and IBS Centre for Climate Physics.
